History

French car designer Paul Bracq design a prototype to be presented at the Munich Olympics of 1972. BMW Turbo concept. Then BMW Chief Designer, Paul Bracq, presented a spectacular design studio with BMW Turbo. His numerous technical refinements, its gullwing doors and retractable headlights caused real sense. This leading-edge technology, designed with a highly charged the BMW Turbo concept symbolizes the advanced research of German automotive design in the 70s. Designed by Paul Bracq, it is a stunning concept car that still looks futuristic 40 years after its debut. Only two cars were made. One is in the BMW Zentrum Spartanburg (United States in South Carolina near Miami) and the other at BMW Germany in their museum in Munich. Paul Bracq as a designer worked for Peugeot, Mercedes Benz and BMW . Among others relevant models designed the Mercedes Benz 230 SL "Pagode". M1 Turbo's BMW made many replicas in miniature and all of them are exposed in this site. The brands who made it are Schuco of Germany, Majorette of France, Carrera in Germany and Aurora Tyco AFX Tomy in U.S. (orders Scalectric) Nakamura of Japan, Tskuda of Japan, Shinsei Jet Machines LTD by Shinshei Kogyo CO LTD Japan, Rei from Brasil (ex Schuco) Hegi Modellbau of Germany's Jet Car Norev of France, Kidco (later die cast Dinky Toys) in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Lintoy, Universal of Hong Kong, Japan Marushin from Japan, Pilén and Gisima of Spain, Luna Plast Argentina, Ertl from UK and Hong Kong Zylmex including unbranded Hong Kong and Taiwan. From 1973 to mid 80's were sold worldwide and today 40 years later, in march 2015, Schuco has announced the release of an impressive new presice model replica.

BMW le encarga al talentoso francés Paul Bracq el diseño de un prototipo para ser presentado en los juegos Olímpicos de Munich de 1972 .
Entonces Jefe de Diseño de BMW, Paul Bracq, presentó un espectacular estudio de diseño con el BMW Turbo. Sus numerosos refinamientos técnicos, sus puertas de ala de gaviota y sus faros retráctiles causaron auténtica sensación. Este líder en tecnología de vanguardia, diseñado con una gran carga emotiva, el BMW TURBO concept, es símbolo de la investigación avanzada de diseño automotriz Alemana en los años 70. Diseñado por Paul Bracq, es un concept car que todavía se ve impresionante futurista 40 años después de su debut.
Solo se crearon dos autos. Uno esta en la planta BMW Zentrum de Spartanburg (Estados Unidos en Carolina del Sur próximo a Miami) y el otro en BMW de Alemania en su museo de Munich.
